Pastor
Reverend Dorothy A. Shields is a native-born resident of Charles County, Maryland. She is married to James H. Shields III and the mother of Donnetta, Dwayne, and James. She has seven grandchildren and two great grandsons.
Rev. Shields graduated with honors from Chesapeake Bible College and Seminary with a Diploma of Ministry, Associate of Christian Ministry, B.A. in Christian Ministry and a Master’s in Bible Studies. She has completed her required studies for the completion of her Doctoral Degree in Theology. She continues to be thankful for her scholastic accomplishments and all that God has allowed her to achieve.
As a servant leader, Rev. Shields has taught Women’s Bible Studies, served as chairman of Connections Ministry which was responsible for welcoming visitors and connecting people to various ministries within the church. She has taught Sunday School Classes for the Youth and Adult Ministry, and other classes as assigned by the Pastor. Additionally, she has served in the Usher Ministry and the Women’s Council for Ministry.
She was ordained as a Deacon on October 13, 2001, at Ebenezer Baptist Church. She was later licensed to preach the gospel on April 5, 2003. On August 20, 2011, she was ordained at the Gospel Renewal Mission.
She has served as the Assistant Pastor of Church Without Walls Ministry for nine years, and in October 2023 she was installed as the Senior Pastor.
Reverend Shields favorite scripture are Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” and Matthew 6:33, “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”
She states: We must remember that serving the Lord is not a burden it is a privilege”.
